Personalities of Great Musicians

If you’re trying to make a living as a musician, it’s helpful to find out what a successful personality is doing in your daily life and help you find your place. These tips may not be intuitive or need to be revisited, but they can also be pretty common sense.

Get up early.

It might be nice to sleep and get that extra time, but you probably don’t need it, and it can hurt your career more than any other way. This tip is difficult, especially for those who don’t have a creative or typical 9-5 office job, but it can significantly benefit you.

As a musician, you can spend a lot of time traveling and playing shows, usually in the evening. During the day, all the business of writing, recording, and being is happening, and don’t forget it. Sleeping until noon sounds good, but it doesn’t help you book your next tour or prepare a new website. Be trained about your music career and do your best to stick to your schedule.

Have a specific goal.

The idea of having a real, written, detailed goal should always be with you. These lists will be what you want to do every day, every month, every year. It should not be ambiguous, especially when starting the day.

It must also be realistic when setting goals. Every morning, start with some things to make that day and another list at different times. You should try just a few things a day to make sure they are done.

The ability to prioritize is also helpful. This is because you need to be open to everything that can happen, such as some celebrities, even if you only have two or three projects on a particular day.

Stop multitasking.

The idea of multitasking became the norm. It was expected that everyone could do more things at once and all in one project simultaneously. There’s undoubtedly more to do than ever, but it’s clear that multitasking isn’t the way to go.

If you always split the focus in six different ways, you make a big mistake here because you haven’t done any terrible things.

Broaden your horizons.

To make a living in the music industry, you have to love it. If you’re not careful, you can be ambitious and work hard, but that doesn’t help. You’ll have to spend some time studying the industry, reading lots of articles, listening to music all the time, reaching your audience online via social media, YouTube, or Spotify streams, and networking as much as you can, but it’s a good idea to quit your job with interest in something other than music.

You can choose whatever you like, but always try to be just as productive to help you do something. Exercise, painting, and travel are good examples as they keep you moving while keeping you away from the industry in which you spend a lot of time. Even a short break can be very rejuvenating, and you can get back to work with the newly discovered energy.
